OLYMPIC SPIN Poor Phil Coles.  Is it fair that he isn't allowed to get away with the same rorts as our Federal & State politicians?  I'm sure he does more work than any of them, and I bet his pension scheme isn't as good.

Lets hear some more about political involvement with the bids. And just how much are we taxpayers going to owe if when all those sponsorship deals fall over?  And was Fahey involved?

And what's this stink about Ross Turnbull?

HEROIN SPIN

Hey Kenny, why don't you authorize the Victorian health department use ordinary morphine in the Heroin (Diacetyl morphine) trial.   (Unless there is a legal reason why you can't authorize licensed doctors to supply it on prescription.)  Morphine will substitute for Heroin.   If you don't trial with morphine, members of the public might eventually ask "is he serious".

NSW ELECTION SPIN

In the original story Tweedledum & Tweedledee were at least entertaining.   With any luck the independents might gain the balance of power in both houses.

MATAHIR SPIN

One could almost be sympathetic for poor Dr. Matahir.  It must be terrible to look forward to one's likely footnote in history:

Dr Matahir, the tyrant whose unfair sacking of a political competitor from cabinet was responsible for the birth of a people's movement in Malaysia that assured a strong democratic root for this fledgling democracy for the next century.
TIMOR SPIN (2)

Last week I blamed a nameless mandarin in foreign affairs for the Timor slaughterhouse.  Suspicion must fall on the "Nothing will save the Governor General" man since the leaked letter that "exonerated" him.  From the pattern of events that did not surround the invasion, someone in either government or foreign affairs is responsible.

Last week I wrote "I personally believe that the responsible officer(s) should be charged with murder."   I do not think it was the Gough.   With his arrogance he would not admit even to himself that he was manipulated, & so he probably feels personally responsible & guilty.

I personally would suspect the bloke who first suggested that the Gough's letter be leaked.
