- JENNIN REVISITED -
The recent UN finding that Palestinian terrorists committed a war crime by putting their military facilities in the Jennin civilian residential area is groundbreaking. It would have been an incredible morale setback for Palestinian and Arab justification.
The world will now reassess the middle east. Judgments will be made as to whether the Palestinians are ruled by opportunistic bandits or responsible statesmen. The Israelis must be especially careful to assiduously ensure that their armed citizens do not turn into vigilantes. The recent charge that west bank settlers shot Palestinian teenagers without provocation must be publicly announced and fully investigated. If there is any truth in the allegations, then charges for murder must be brought.
If Israel is seen as not being even handed and truthful in suppressing terror, then a potentially favorable world opinion will rapidly dissipate. It is very hard to be seen as blameless when might is on your side. (Ask the Americans!)
- NAME CHANGE -
SPIN was originally chosen for the masthead because BARVENNON
is a sheep station. (which is Australian vernacular for a wool farm).
However in the world of journalism & politics, SPIN has a stench.
So to avoid that stench, I have renamed this page
