- RADIOGRAPHER RIP-OFF?
The labour party have challenged Federal health minister Woolridge about leaks. Apparently information was leaked to some radiographers prior to the latest health budget, who then purchased MRI machines prior to a critical date. These machines attract a health care subsidy when used. Prosecution is mooted of some of those radiographers who purchased some of an extra 50 Magnetic Resonance Image scanners each worth $3 million.
Do Kim Beazley & the labour party really want to be seen as responsible for putting high technology health beyond the reach of the poor? At the moment, MR Imaging is only for the wealthy.
- AUSTRALIAN SOVEREIGN?
Why must we have an Australian head of state? Not having an English head of state never seemed to worry the English very much. The last truly English Sovereign was probably Alfred (died 1066AD). I suppose in the final analysis, ARM & Turnbull are just attempting to incite racism in our nation.
If Australia had direct government, enabled by legislation like that coming before the NSW Parliament, there would be no need for a head of state. The Australian people could sack their government directly.

- INDONESIA & TIMOR
Habibe was probably the best choice as president. Because his grasp on power was weak.
The president chosen appears excellent. Wahid's suspicion of Australia is thoroughly deserved. Australia deserved censure because Whitlam did encourage Suharto to occupy Timor, and Keating did make that secret treaty. Under Wahid's tutelage Megawati may grow to deserve the presidency in her own right.
SPIN congratulates the Indonesian people on their becoming the world's third largest democracy. SPIN's best wishes for a strengthening of the democratic spirit in Indonesia.
- PRINCE CHARLES & THE CHINESE.
The Blair government has demonstrated it's elitist tendencies by suppressing public demonstrations against the murderous Chinese dictators. The incredible damage being done to democracy requires that Blair be jailed as a traitor. From his kowtowing springs a suspicion that Blair secretly envies the Chinese their system, which does not require them to face the Chinese people in elections at periodic intervals.
SPIN applauds Prince Charles' non attendance at the
state
banquet for the Chinese, and nominates Charles as sovereign of
Australia.
After Blair's kowtowing. who would want the Westminster parliamentary
system?
