The strike is about union busting in the steel & mining industry. BHP is one of Australia's leading industrial/mining companies, and has locked unionists out of mines in the remote Pilbara region. Latest news is that international unions are entering the fray.
INTERNATIONAL
- LOMBOS, INDONESIA
The unrest of Timor & Ambon seems to be spreading. Now the island of Lombos, next in line to the east of Bali has had a bout of civil unrest. Strong action by the government is not the solution. Violence inflames greater violence, albeit deferred.
There are rumours that the violence is being incited
by
those who are losing power, by those with strong ties to the
military.
Further whispers intimate that Clinton has warned off a military
coupe.
The recent abortive coupe in Ecuador will provide a timely example.
