What is frightening is that Germany in the 1920's was one of the socially "most advanced" countries in the world.  If state organized racist murder could happen in democratic Germany*, it could also happen in the USA or Australia.

Another lesson to be learned.   The Chinese Sun Yat Sen Government established gun controls in 1935, but it was the totalitarian Mao government that "benefited" thirteen years later.  The Kingdom of Cambodia established gun controls in 1956, but it was the revolutionary government of Pol Pot that benefited nineteen years later.

Where is the chain of cause and effect?  Why might the enacting of gun controls result in an increase in the likelihood of government sponsored homicide on the people?

Perhaps the answer lies in the minds of men, in the corrosion of the human spirit engendered by progressive loss of real power by the people, and in the fatiguing burden of laws & taxes enacted by sly politicians with the backing of well armed police.

It is surely scare mongering to suggest that anything similar to the events that happened in Germany in the 1940's could ever happen in Australia or the USA# or France or UK or Italy or any other OECD nation.

Isn't it?

*Hitler was democratically elected to power.
#Canada is included with the USA :)
