HOW
TO CREATE A NEW PAGE OR EDIT AN EXISTING PAGE.
-
Use NAVIGATOR 4.0 or a later version
to open an existing page that is similar to the page to be produced.
-
Use the mouse to select "file" from
the top (text) menu
-
Select "edit page" from the pulldown
menu.
-
YOU ARE NOW IN NETSCAPE COMPOSER.
You may erase or write text, install links & images, use colours and
do anything else that you can figure out how to do. Here are a few
style hints:
-
Use "format" on the upper text menu,
then "page colours & properties" to edit the page description.
-
Don't use large images.
Large images take too long to download on small systems.
-
Don't use animated giffs
(moving pictures). Research has shown that these tend to irritate
viewers.
-
Research has found that
frames
should be avoided. If you must use frames, provide a "no
frames" version.
-
Pages should fit wholly onto the screen
-
Text should be broken up into lists & tables
using bold & italics.
-
Research has shown that
readers focus on one item in a page. If that item takes their interest,
they will read on.
-
When you have finished linking, select
"file" from the top text menu, then "save as" from the pulldown menu.
-
Save your page where you can find it
to upload it.
-
Close the NETSCAPE COMPOSER.
