UPLOADING  PAGES TO YOUR WWW DIRECTORY.
  1. You should have WS_FTP (a "file transfer protocol" application) program icon installed on the desktop.  If it is not installed, get a copy from tucows.com and install it.
  2. Double click the ws_ftp icon.  There should be a profile set up that will connect to your account.  It will have been set to open to the www directory on your computer in the left window, and to the public_html directory in your account on the internet webspace computer.
  3. Double click the FTP icon, check that the correct profile is shown in the "profile name" window, and click "OK".
  4. If a profile has not been created, click the "new" button, and fill in the "host name/address" window and the "user ID" (or account name) window.  Then click the OK button, and enter the password when requested.
  5. The left window shows a directory on the working computer, the right window shows the extranet computer that is to be uploaded to.   Confirm that the left window contains the file to be uploaded.  Confirm that the right window shows a directory named "public_html" which should be contained in a sub directory of an account directory.
  6. Click the "date" column in the left window.  The files ready for uploading should be sorted to appear above the LOG file.
  7. Select a file to upload, and click on the right arrow between the directory windows.
  8. Repeat step (d) until all files that have been edited have been uploaded.
  9. Close the FTP program.
  10. Open the uploaded page on the internet in your browser.
  11. Select the "reload" button on your browser.  (If this is not done, then the browser may have provided a cached copy of the web page for viewing.)
  12. Test all of the links on the newly uploaded page.
