FABRIC ART
Barvennon.com
began it's existence as the website of a wool producer. Time has
passed, and the wool farm has followed inevitable economic processes
and been absorbed into a larger farm, gaining thereby the advantages of
scale. The former farmer has moved on, and has reincarnated as a
fabric artist.
Anybody
out there who wants to apply for the exceptional
circumstances exit grant; don't bother. It is your typical
"catch 22" situation. Basically, you have to prove that your farm
is a commercial proposition by showing that, within the past seven
years, you made a substantial profit. (I was able to prove, using
DSE data and wool prices etc that I could have made an average weekly
wage given current wool prices and traditional rainfall, but that was
apparently not sufficient). The current "el nino" has been in
force for about 6 of the past seven years, which is why so many farmers
are being forced to sell their farms.
So
if you can't show that you comply with all
their other conditions, and did not make a profit as well, then my
advice is; do not waste your time.
As
my art portfolio expands I will upload designs to these pages.
The
medium will be non-synthetic fabrics, and the mode silk screen printing
and tie dying.
